Pe Than was diagnosed with kidney cancer in 2013 and after putting up a good fight, he passed away peacefully at St Luke's Hospice on New Year's Day 2016. 

He was a wise man, a keen reader and very much a deep thinker. He was also a true Buddhist and spiritually minded, spending most of his days practicing meditation. Despite his illness, he never complained, moaned or got frustrated and angry with his condition. He was amazing and a real inspiration.

Pe was a devoted husband, a loving father and a wonderful grandfather, a very special person, much loved by all who knew him and will always be remembered as a great man.

He will be in our hearts forever.
